Spring Meeting
Spring Meeting - May, 2025 - Time TBD/Location TBD
Uniform Deadline
October 31st 2024
Jan 17th, 2025 Tier 4, Tier 5 and Tier 12 Cancellations
To impacted Tier 4, Tier 5 and Tier 12 impacted teams for matches scheduled for January 17th, 2025:
Below are our inclement weather guidelines:
E.8 INCLEMENT WINTER WEATHER The WWVL does not cancel matches for inclement winter weather.
1) In the event of inclement winter weather during a scheduled WWVL match, a team that cancels in advance or does not have five players at the match will be assessed a match loss and potentially a fine as per Section E.3 Rescheduling/Cancelling Matches and Section E.5 Defaults.
2) If Environment Canada had issued a winter weather watch (blizzard, winter storm, blowing snow or freezing rain) for the City of Winnipeg during the match, then they can submit a request to the Executive to reschedule the match as per Section E.3 Rescheduling/Cancelling Matches. All inclement winter weather requests must be submitted within five days of the originally scheduled match and will be reviewed by the Executive on a case by case basis. Additional consideration may be given by the Executive if a team has a number of players travelling to the match from outside of Winnipeg.
While Environment Canada has removed the blizzard warning for the City of Winnipeg as of 12:45 pm, Jan 17th, 2025, our board has reviewed and discussed the safety of players traveling from outside of the City, even though we are a Winnipeg league, and have determined that the increased risk to travel outweighs the guideline that we have above.
Therefore, games in tier 4, 5 and 12 have been cancelled for tonight’s games. As a board we are actively trying to find facility times to get the games rescheduled. If any teams have facilities and times that are available, please contact facilities@wwvl.ca
Thank you!

Photo/Video Policy
We want to ensure that all facilities used in sanctioned WWVL matches are a place of privacy and safety for all members, guests and staff. When taking photos/videos in public spaces, please respect the safety and privacy of others. If you are planning to record your match, you will be REQUIRED to receive consent/verbal permission from the opposing team as a courtesy before the match starts. Livestreaming of the match on applications like Facebook Live is not allowed.
The WWVL executive will be revisiting this topic at the end of the season and may be implementing new guidelines for the 2024-2025 season.
Thanks,
WWVL
Welcome to the WWVL Website
The Winnipeg Women's Volleyball League is a non-profit association created to provide a tiered level of volleyball competition for women in Winnipeg. A volunteer Executive Committee manages the WWVL and is responsible for organizing gym times and referees, scheduling matches, managing league fees, and the overall operation of the WWVL. All new teams interested in joining the league should send a representative to our Fall Organizational Meeting once we have rescheduled the time at Bronx Park Community Centre. New teams will be required to submit a Preliminary Roster form online (click on the Registration tab for the link under New Team when we open it up again) and a $100 Performance Bond. Any individual players who are interested in playing should sign up on our individual players page. For more information about the WWVL, please contact a member of the Executive (see Contacts page).
